One of us is a wannabe animal photographer (Vanessa) and one of us is an ex-zoologist (Blake). Because of this, we were really excited about our days on safari in Kenya and Tanzania.
The 10 days we spent on safari were a highlight of our trip. We got up close to the animals and got to see them doing all the "normal" things they do in a day - eating, sleeping, playing, etc. It was a tremendous experience.
